Morning (summer)
The Mont Serein resort
At around 1,400 m it is much cooler than on the plain: mountain kart run, tubing, trampolines, treetop adventure from age 3 and short trails. Open in the afternoon, daily in July and August: arrive for lunch.

The Gorges du Toulourenc
For older children: walk up the river with your feet in the water, from the hamlet of Veaux. Arrive early (the car park fills up quickly) and give it a miss if storms are forecast.

In spring or autumn, have a picnic at the Groseau spring, then visit the Château du Barroux, with its spiral staircases and terraces: children love it.

Our tips

Rivers and lakes are not lifeguarded, except Les Salettes in summer.
Bring hats, water and sun cream: shade is scarce in the afternoon.
