Crillon-le-Brave owes its name to « brave Crillon », Henri IV's companion-in-arms, whose statue stands on the main square. In the Romanesque church of Saint-Romain, his epitaph reads: « Henri IV l'aima, les pauvres le pleurèrent » (Henri IV loved him, the poor mourned him). The château, below the village, has become a hotel. Walking and mountain-bike trails set off from the village.

Crillon-le-Brave, a hilltop village

Set on a hillock facing Mont Ventoux, this small fortified village takes its name from a comrade-in-arms of Henri IV. In the lanes: remains of ramparts and their gates, a 17th-century belfry with a wrought-iron bell cage and the Romanesque church of Saint-Romain.
